Fiber Fusion Seminar in Grand Marais, the excitement machine!!!

Today was a grand day for the Northwoods Fiber Guild in Grand Marais.  Folks from as far away as Chicago and Thunder Bay, Ontario worked and played with The Glitter Knitter for a day long celebration of creativity and fiber joy.  New friendships were kindled, ideas shared, new types of projects and new fibers premiered, and a whole new sense of the joy of fiber creation was sparked by Steven Berg, the Glitter Knitter using everything from classic fiber arts projects to cutting edge new techniques and materials.  All went home just bursting with new enthusiasm for the art of fiber creation.  As the moon rose over Lake Superior, dreams of new fiber horizons streamed through the heads of all the participants.

Fiber Fusion Seminar in Grand Marais, Knitting on the Radio

Steven, the "Glitter Knitter", is in Grand Marais, Minnesota for the Northwoods Fiber Arts Guild. So today, he set up the room at the Cook County Courthouse, the Commissioners Chambers, and transformed it into a Fiber Fusion Fantasy. The attendees tomorrow will be treated to a banquet of fantastic fiber options for their creative pleasure.

After setting up the room, local community radio, WTIP invited him over to interview with Bob Carter and Buck Benson on "The Roadhouse" show. Knitting on the radio was a unique concept and a fun time was had by all.

Surprizes, Fun, and Fiber at Starbucks, Rosemount

Some call it the Glitter Knitter Jam, other Sit, Sip and Knit, but whatever you call it, a gang of happy fiber artists got the latest and greatest news and information from the Yarn Garage, they got hints and tips from Steven on their projects, they listened to the Violin of Bob White while they knit, and just generally had a fiberlicious time at Starbucks in Rosemount. We had men knitting and crocheting, we had marvelous samples of Starbucks fare supplied by the shop, we chatting and laughed, and got a lot of charity work done.

If you haven't been to a Glitter Knitter Jam, make sure you get to the next one. You do not know the fun and education you are missing.

Magnificent Music, Fabulous Knitting, and a Wedding Too!!

Steven's Friend, Michael Monroe, did a very special concert at the Lake Harriet Bandshell, and also got Married to his long time friend, partner, manager and the sharing partner of his life, Debra Mueller. At the concert, Steven was knitting a special scarf and sweater, both using some of Michael's Cassette Music Tape. Steven always has a new direction, a new inspiration, and a new concept for fiber art creation.

The British American Cast Off for England Preflight Party

Steven and Andy Tatham of Black Swan Explorations hosted a party for all the gang that is going to England in September including Christa, the Sr. Glitter Knitter, Steven's mom. We had a deluxe potluck in the party room at Bob White's condo. Andy filled us in on the trip and the arrangements, Steven gave us info on projects we can do before we go and what we will be doing with Rowan in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, their home territory. We will be their special guests for their 30th Anniversary and also have four half day workshops with Steven and local knitters.
The food was fantastic, the laughter and excitement was palpable. We will have a blast and this "pot luck" was fabulous.
