FUN! FUN! IN THE SUN!!!!!

June 2oth Junk Sale in Burnsville.
Yes, I stepped out of my comfort zone and sat outside all day promoting knitting in public. I joined the folks at Touch of Home  http://www.touchofhomefurnishings.com/  for their summer time junk sale. Linda, Elliot and I had 2 truckloads of sale yarn to share with our knitting public. I worked on my new obsession with big needle knits. It sure is a show stopper.
Knitting has the same effect on the public, as walking a cute puppy. I was fortunate to have both in this photo. Sorry, his face was very cute. Ha!

We emptied a few baskets of yarn into the knitting public's bags.  But as usual Steven bought more than he sold. The sun tooks it's toll on all of us so we packed it up and left around 3pm. When I got back to the Yarn Garage to help Monika and Melissa, the store filled up and we had a full evening of knitters from out of town. I was starving.....thank goodness, Lynette stopped by my booth earlier and gave me a wonderful Lindt chocolate bar with pear. Bless her ever blooming heart.

Linda brought her comfortable lawn chairs and we handed out business cards and class schedules to any one that slowed down long enough. The kids seemed the most interested.
Of course, a few of my friends and family like Victoria stopped by to say hello. She was on break from her summer job at Linders Garden Center. Burnsville has never looked so good.

Hurry in to see the great antiques and bric-a-brac I picked up for the new shop. Oh! how I love cool junk.

More blogging to come..... I haven't even finished telling about all the yarn show festivities.

YARN! YARN! EVERYWHERE!!!

Each Yarn Company has a Kiosk that shows their new, next, now fibers. These are set up in the hall for your perusal while you wait. They even hand out clip books where you can mount strands of yarn that you are interested in checking out inside the convention hall. It is a fun, quick look see.

I had added some maribu feathers to mom's white shawl so she has that added Glitter Knitter touch.
I on the other hand, wanted to show off the strong return of the accent scarf which I paired up with my machine knit sweater. The scarf was a hit and just shows that novelty yarns are as popular and strong as ever, if used effectively.
I knit this neck tie scarf with Berroco suede http://www.berroco.com/shade_cards/suede_sh.html . It knits and crochets up great for a summer cool feel. I have a ton of colors at the shop and some great samples made up. Stop in and check out all my great samples.

THE SENIOR GLITTER KNITTER IS CHECKED IN!

This has been an exciting summer for the Yarn Garage. I have so much brewing in my creative kettle. This last week I took Christa, the senior glitter knitter, to The National Needlework show in Columbus. Here she is at check-in where the whole staff have become our friends and welcomes the Glitter Knitter Comedy Act every show.

There was so much new to see that we behaved like one of those shopping shows where you have a limited amount of time to fill your shopping cart.

I took a few samples from the shop for mom and I to wear something different each day of the show. This white shawl she is sporting has become very popular again at the http://www.yarngarage.com/ .
It is a simple triangle knit from outer long point to the opposite side creating the fringe as you go. The fringe magically forms when you are done.
Christa sports a hand crocheted purse that, as she says, "I could have made."
Stop in and check out all the great new ideas.
