Teaching the Mobius at Wilde Roast

Steven, The Glitter Knitter, teaches the Urban Knitters the popular "Mobius Technique". We meet every other Sunday. Be in tune with the latest and most creatve ideas in Fiber Art.

Celebrate Wilde Roast Cafe's 5th anniversary this coming Sunday March 22nd, from 11am to 4 pm.

We will be offering all newbies yarn, needles and lesson for only $10.
I am encouraging all my friends of the Yarn Garage and especially all those that have enjoyed
Urban Knitters these last couple of years, to join Steven and the gang to help teach the masses to knit

We will offer all brunch and lunch guests the opportunity to have a teacher sit with them at their table
and The Yarn Garage will provide yarn and needles.

In addition Steven will have great sale yarns available for purchase as well as his usual entertaining presentation

Auracania at the Urban Knitters

The brand Steven highlighted this week is Auracania. (Hand dyes from South America) All weights and blends of yarn for cottons to wools from Sock weight to bulky, a myriad of colors.  There were so many folks that came that we spilled out into the Wilde Roast main room.  Christa Berg, the Senior Glitter Knitter was also there, helping Steven with fixes, ideas and a couple of baskets of her wonderful yarns.

Knitting Green with the Urban Knitters

One of the recent innovations in the business of yarn fiber is the use of natural materials you would not expect, milk, bamboo, etc. Steven showed the knitters lots of great ideas to create with those new fibers. Some of them have fantastic feel and weight, others are durable and all are fantastic to work with. Steven got lots of thanks for the things he showed and the new technique he demonstrated. Urban Knitters is a unique group and Wilde Roast is a unique place to meet and learn. Christa, the Senior Glitter Knitter was also there lending her unique views and methods to the group.

Fabulous Urban Knitters at Wilde Roast

We had another wonderful Urban Knitters at the Wilde Roast Cafe in NE Minneapolis today.  There were 25 people there and they all got the latest in insider information and tips from The Glitter Knitter, Steven Berg.  Christa Berg, the senior Glitter Knitter as also there lending her tips and wisdom. 

 One of the items Steven had was Bison Yarn, yes that's right, Bison.  Made from the underbelly hair of the Bison it is super soft, very workable, and very warm. 

These folks also heard about the Upcoming Knit Out at the Mall of America, Saturday, February 17 - Sunday, February 18. The Craft Yarn Council of America is traveling to Mall of America. Beginner to expert, Knit-Out & Crochet has something for everyone. Join us at Mall of America for a fun and exciting knit and crochet extravaganza. 

The Urban Knitters at Wilde Roast

It was a Wild Holiday Sunday at Wilde Roast today. Steven was there with last minute assistance for knitters with Holiday Stallout. He showed some super yarn with super prices for the attendees, Ozark Handspun for a super quick and fun, 2 skein, winter hat with flaps and a tie. It was particularly apt for this icy day. We can't even tell you of the super prices he gave to the attendees. Urban Knitters is going to be on again January 11th and then every other week following, every two weeks. Wonderful Day at Wilde Roast

It was a grand Urban Knitter's gathering at Wilde Roast.  There was not enough room in the conference room and the crowd spilled out into the main restaurant/coffee shop.  We are getting so many people at Wilde Roast that we will have to figure out something to accommodate all the new people.  

Steven had the regular show and tell. He showed some new products and new knitting methods including "Square Needles".  You have to ask him about that when you meet Steven, the Glitter Knitter.

Every other Sunday, Steven, The Glitter Knitter, meets with a wild group of fiber artists at Wilde Roast, in Northeast Minneapolis.  This Sunday, Christa Berg, Steven's mom, who has her own shop in middle Wisconsin, was onboard teaching right along with her son.  This is always an occasion for new ideas, new techniques, new products just arrived at the Yarn Garage, and some fantastic deals for the folks who come out.  Great fiber fun was had by all.

It's Happening at Wilde Roast.

What is it that goes on in that back room on East Hennepin? Certainly no political agenda. What does Steven have in the strangely shaped bag he just got in? What specials will he have for those brave souls who venture into the back room?  Well, we found out this afternoon at Wilde Roast with the Urban Knitters.  You have to come if you want to be in on the know.  Some very special fall secrets were shared with a special preview of some of the newest stock that just came in this week.

Great Day at Brookdale Center with the Minnesota Knitters Guild

Steven and the Glitter Knitter gang in their continued strong support of the Minnesota Knitters Guild were at The Brookdale Mall in Brooklyn Center with a truckload of Yarn and Joy and a lot of Yarn Garage Knitters including the Urban Knitters and the Glitter Knitter Gang. Let your Light Shine!! - The Minneapolis Urban Knitters Group

Every second Sunday, Steven and folks who are Urban Fiber Fanatics meet at the wonderful Wilde Roast in the East Hennepin Area. You need to let Steven know if you are coming so make certain you are on the email list to get the announcements and the specials.

They show their latest creativity and get tips from Steven, The Glitter Knitter, on tuning up projects in the build. There are a lot of exciting new ideas every meeting.

"Steven brought the entire store down here," one of the knitters said.

When you see the designs and the fibers and the energy at the Urban Knitters group, it becomes obvious that there is a whole new level of fiber art going on here. This "ain't your grandmother's knitting."

Working with Steven is not for your average fiber artist. His energy is infectious, his skills phenomenal, his ideas amazing.
